NARRATIVE SUMMARY

HMM-364  flew  1,419.7  hours  completing  1,490  tasks for  5,783 sorties, lifted 315.7 tons of cargo,  carried 12,800 troops/passengers and  flew 218  MEDEVAC missions with 109 emergency, 144 priority, and 229 routine evacuees.  HMM-364 was responsible  for  1  KBA  confirmed.   There  were  27  enemy  fire  incidents directed  against  squadron  aircraft  with  4 aircraft  receiving hits.  The average daily aircraft availability was 13 and aircrew availability was 15.

SEQUENTIAL LISTING OF SIGNIFICANR EVENTS

2 May 1970 - High  day  for  the month,  HMM-364 flew 36 flights for  69.6 total hours,  279  sorties,  93  tasks carrying  332  troops/passengers  and  13.1 tons of cargo and flew 20 MEDEVAC missions for 28 evacuees.

4 May 1970 - Aircraft  153349  received bullet holes in the forward transmission, cockpit, yoke assembly, and control closet.  Three of  the crew were wounded by shrapnel fragments.

17 May 1970 - Aircraft  153363  damaged  2 aft and 1 forward  blades on a troop insert.

22 May 1970 - The  gunner  of  aircraft  154026  was  credited  with  1  KBA on a recon insert which was necessarily aborted.

23 May 1970 - Aircraft 153952 was diverted  to an emergency recon extract while flying  a  routine  C&C  mission.    Without  gunship  support  the  mission  was successfully  completed.   There  were  no  U.S.  casualties  and no damage to the aircraft.

28 May 1970 - Aircraft  153363 received moderate .30 cal. small  arms fire  on an emergency MEDEVAC mission.  The mission was completed with the support of gunships and no casualties to the crew of the aircraft.
